25 things to do during a snowstorm

The wind is howling, snow is blowing sideways in gusts and the roads are impassible and snow covered. You're stuck at home and bored. I am here to give you 25 things to do during a snowstorm while stuck at home!

From fun activities, to productive tips, to adventurous activities! There is always something to do or to be done!

There is something on this list for everybody - children and adults. Many of these things can be done with or without power during a snowstorm.

Fun things to do during a snow storm: For Adults

Let's start with fun things to do for the adults. If you're still having to work remotely today, I've added a few for you to the list.

  • Read that book you've been putting off - a real, physical book
  • Play your favorite board game
  • Make homemade popcorn
  • Take a luxurious bath with your favorite candle and throw in a bath bomb or some lavender salts
  • Make homemade tomato soup with grilled cheese
  • Complete a puzzle or crosswords
  • Have a movie marathon (Harry Potter is always a good go-to)
  • Bake chocolate chip cookies

Productive things to do during a snowstorm: For Adults

  • Cook up meals you can freeze
  • Meal prep meals for the rest of the week
  • Clean out your junk drawer (I know you have one)
  • DUST - go around and dust your home 
  • Catch up on your finances, sit down and create that budget if you haven't already or see if there is anywhere you can cut back
  • Wash your shoes
  • Clean all the bedding - you will thank me at bedtime, trust me!
  • Organize your pantry
  • Deep clean your bathroom - it's always needed

  • Dress up the family and go outside to shovel
  • Build a snowman
  • Make cards to mail out to the grandparents - they love handmade cards from the grandkids
  • Make hot chocolate with marshmallows
  • Play a family fun board game
  • Read the kids favorite book to them
  • Create cut-out snowflakes to hang on the banister
  • Build a blanket and pillow fort
